2020-2021. Above are samples of Portland Review pieces that I copyedited. I used suggested changes in Google Docs to correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors (per Chicago style). If necessary, I queried the authors (using the comment feature) to clarify my suggestions or to verify the authors' stylistic choices. For pieces that I published (such as the Young poem), I formatted the text in WordPress, checking line breaks, indents, italicization, etc. For featured images, I found relevant copyright-free images and, if necessary, edited them using Adobe software. February 2021. For this copyediting exercise, I was provided a passage from a 2003 article originally published in a general-audience science magazine. I edited the text according to Chicago style and queried anything that required attention or clarification. Vertical Divider

May 2020. This is a proposal that my team submitted to Sharon Helms of PSU's Office of Information Technology (OIT). The client project involved conducting user research (survey and interviews) to understand PSU students' attitudes and preferences toward receiving technical assistance. For the proposal, I wrote the Introduction, Objectives, and Responsibilities sections. As the designated editor, I edited the document for grammar, style, format, and consistency. I also provided feedback on the survey questions and interview field guide. Vertical Divider

April 2020. As practice in technical editing, I did a substantive edit/rewrite of a 2007 tech blog article. Guided by the principles of minimalism, I made a number of revisions. I changed the title and rewrote the introduction to better reflect modern uses and the nature of the instructions. I also cut down much of the text, changing the language from casual to formal. Design-wise, I added headings, new lists, bold terms, and boxes around notes. Furthermore, I included a figure to demonstrate the initial setup. Vertical Divider
